Ok, here's what we learned...

If there is going to be a game 7 in this years World Series it won't be in Yankee Stadium. The Yanks will have to win in 6.

We also learned..

Joe Girardi is still clueless. I was watching Ortiz come up to bat in the 9th and thinking "we don't need a home run, we need a hit." Can you pinch hit for Ortiz though? YES, yes you can if you know you don't have a pinch runner to use if he gets on! He gets a hit, then gets thrown out at second on a fly ball single to right field. So now we've got two outs instead of first and 2nd and one out because Ortiz runs like he's got shackles on his ankles.

This was an important game Joe. You need TWO runs, not one home run. With no pinch runner available you have to pinch hit for Ortiz in that situation. So what winds up happening is the best player in baseball, and Mr. Clutch for the last 2 seasons, A-Rod doesn't even get an at bat in the All Star game! He's left as the only player not to play as Girardi holds him on the bench hoping to give him a shot to win it.

WHY JOE? Why not hit for Ortiz?

Gerardi is very lucky he's got the best team in baseball, that's all I can say.
